Developing Leadership Skills for Aspiring Leaders
For some of you, this will land in your inbox/feed whilst you’re on holiday - and for that reason, it really isn’t a business-as-usual edition of the podcast. Instead we’ve focused on building on what we heard in the previous episode from Eleri and Vince around what organisations need in terms of Tech leadership skills.
In this episode we talk with Adam Scoot, a leadership coach, and get his top tips on how aspiring leaders can develop their skills, and what they need to do to successfully lead high performing teams. We talk about how you can empower people, and devolve decision making downwards. We talk about organisational clarity. We also talk about the importance of feedback.
We also get some summer-holiday reading tips for those wanting to find out more about leadership, and develop their skills. In the podcast, Adam recommends the following books:
Turn the Ship Around! by L. David Marquette Emotions and Life: Perspectives from Psychology, Biology and Evolution by Robert Plutchik Leadership agility by Bill Joiner & Stephen Josephs
If you’ve enjoyed this podcast, why not share it with your team - there are many aspiring leaders out there, and this may be just the right advice at the right time for them to thrive!
